The unit covers analysis of an organisation’s interactions with the environment, the specifics of the local situation and determining risks and vulnerabilities (hot spots) for close monitoring or action.
A key part of this unit is selecting the right boundaries for the risk analysis as part of the process mapping.
The unit does not require the recommendations to be implemented as there are too many variables out of the control of the learner, such as obtaining the capital required, possible competing projects and the long timeline required.
The Skill Set applies to organisations where energy is identified as a significant risk to sustainability. It can apply to an entire process, part of a large organisation or all/part of a value chain.
The Skill Set is targeted at people such as managers, senior technicians and senior technologists. They may work as individuals or as part of a team.
